How to Use Equation Tutor

In Equation Tutor, you can solve algebra equations step-by-step by entering 'solving steps'.

How to Enter a Solving Step

To enter a solving step, type the operation you want to do to both sides of the equation and then press 'Try Step!'

Example Solving Steps

• -5 (Subtract 5 from both sides)
• -x (Take an 'x' away from both sides)
• /3 (Divide both sides by 3)

Checking Your Answer

Once you know what x is, enter your answer into the box 'x=' and then press 'Check Answer!'

You can always reload the page to start over.
