The GCF or greatest common factor is the largest factor that divides everything.

So first the GCF of 12, 9, and 7 is 1, because any integer greater than 1 can't divide all of them.

Since 7z^2 doesn't have an x or a y, we know the GCF can't have an x or a y.

Since 9x^3y doesn't have a z, the GCF can't have a z.

So the GCF of 12x^2y^3z,9x^3y,7z^2 is 1.
